Calculate depreciation in the following order and subject to the following limits:

1 . Calculate depreciation on the old property (vehicle) for year of disposition, limited to the smaller of the old property’s §280F limit or the new property’s §280F limit . Per Publication 463, if you dispose of the vehicle in years 2 through 5 and the half-year convention applies, then the full year's depreciation amount must be divided by 2. If the mid-quarter convention applies, multiple the full year's depreciation by the following percentage for the quarter that you dispose of the car:

First quarter       12.5%
second                 37.5%
third                      62.5%
fourth                   87.5%
