In this review we will cover the foundations for bookkeeping, including the books of accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping. We will familiarize you with typical asset and liability accounts. We will review liability, accrual and capital Balance Sheet accounts, depreciation methods including straight-line, and accelerated methods. In addition, different business structures are reviewed, including proprietorship, general partnerships, LLCs, and corporations.

We will review T-Accounts, and the use of debit and credit entries into the Balance Sheet accounts and earnings accounts. An exercise is available to be worked on together as a class.

We will also explain how to calculate the Cost of Goods Sold, either by the calculation method or percentage method.
